First blog

When it comes to public writing, i guess i don't really mind it but i don't enjoy it either. Unless i am writing about something that i am truly interested i really can't get into it. If it is something that i do enjoy to talk about with people and discus things about the subject i can get really into it. Take this blog for example i can't really get into it. When i came to come write this i had no idea what to write so i looked through other peoples blogs to see what they had written and i saw a few of them talking about public writing. If that is the topic that we are suppose to write about than i am going to feel pretty dumb right now but in my defence i was not in class on Thursday because i had the flu and even now while typing this i still feel pretty crappy.

I have never used a blog before so i don't really know much of what i am doing with this. To be honest i never really saw a point to blogs, like why do a bunch of people wanna know what up with my life i don't really get it. I am up to try it though cause weather or not i understand why people use blogs a lot of people do use them so there has to be something to them. Hopefully this English assignment to get me to write blogs will open me up to see what is the point of these blogs and hopefully i come to like them a little bit more

  1. Much of the time others are forming opinions about us based on information they are gathering about us that we cannot directly control. This info is often inaccurate and usually reveals more about the observer than about the observed. A blog is a great way to help others get to know you in a forum you can exercise far more control over. I hope you grow to enjoy blogging, because I would enjoy getting to know you.

Also, I hope you feel better. I hate being sick, its like being incomplete.

  2. A very honest post, which is always a good thing in the world of blogging. Hopefully some of the future prompts will be a little more interesting for you, as it's easier to engage a reader if they can see that you care about what you are writing. Your decision not to capitalize "I" is a totally valid one on the internet (and will not in any way negatively affect your grade), but you should keep in mind that that sort of thing can affect your readership-- some people will like it, and be more inclined to read your blog, whereas some may decide that your blog isn't worth reading.

  3. I couldn't really seem to get into this blog either. I honestly hate public writing so this assignment was very difficult for me. i agree with you when you said you don't really get the point of blogs. I feel the same way. I don't really have any interest in reading about other people lives and i couldn't see how they would have any interest reading about my life. Hopefully future blog assignments will be easier to write about and be creative with.
